Royal Caribbean unveils plans for Hideaway Beach designed by Martin Aquatic
Hideaway Beach is Royal Caribbean’s first adults-only area of its private island Perfect Day at CocoCay, set to debut in January 2024.
A major addition is coming to Royal Caribbean’s island destination Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. The cruise line has just shared a first look at Hideaway Beach, a new section of the island reserved for its 18 and older guests. Featuring aquatic amenities designed by Martin Aquatic, the new island hot-spot is set to open to the public in January 2024, along with the highly awaited Icon of the Seas, which also received full conceptual design from the engineering firm.
Spanning over an acre, Hideaway Beach offers picturesque white sand beaches, turquoise waters and stretches of lush greenery. Royal Caribbean built out new dedicated spots for food and drinks, full-service beach bars, a Snack Shack, and Slice of Paradise restaurant that will keep guests fueled for their fun-filled days. However, the prime attraction is the 18,000-square-foot Martin Aquatic-designed main pool with a swim up bar. The pool hosts a DJ booth so guests can enjoy endless live tunes from sunup to sundown. Built-in sunshelves and sunbeds will make it easy for guests to lounge all day.
Those looking for a more exclusive experience at Hideaway Beach should check out The Hideout, an area reserved for guests of just 10 private cabanas. These cabanas overlook the 5,000-square-foot secluded Cabana pool with its various amenities and Cabana attendant services for ultimate relaxation. Both pools are heated and boast infinity edges with acrylic walls that give vacationers perfect oceanfront views right from the water.
From the pools to the cabanas to the turquoise Bahamian water, there’s something for everyone at Hideaway Beach. This adults-only area will also attract guests of Royal Caribbean’s sister brand, Celebrity Cruises, which announced earlier in 2023 that two of its ships would include Perfect Day at CocoCay on their itineraries. Royal Caribbean has stated that with the Hideaway Beach expansion, the daily capacity of CocoCay will reach 13,000 guests.
This new area of the island is the first expansion since the addition of the Coco Beach Club in 2020, which featured another elevated pool experience from Martin Aquatic. The original 2019 debut of Perfect Day at CocoCay saw monumental customer demand and industry acclaim for its assortment of amenities designed by Martin Aquatic, including Thrill Waterpark and the 33,000-square-foot Oasis Lagoon pool.
