Masdar Public Realm

Masdar Public Realm is a one hundred year design project that will eventually result in the world’s first zero-carbon city. Located just outside the city limit of Abu Dhabi, UAE, this project will consist of mixed-use development for large corporate headquarters retail space and unique sustainable apartments for its residents. Working on phase one, the public realm, Martin Aquatic conceived a new type of water feature design that would be able to harvest site water and prevent evaporation loss in this hot desert climate. The mix of water feature designs continue to develop over the project’s progress, with Martin Aquatic’s engineered concepts contributing to the zero-carbon goal of Masdar City.
