As the size and complexity of aquatic amenities has increased over time, Martin Aquatic has continued to innovate its processes for designing and engineering clean and sustainable water environments. For large surf lagoons, especially, our new Blue Mar Basins™ technology is equipped to handle the demands of constantly churning water in a way that makes for an unmatched freshwater surfing experience. For those smaller scale projects, we have unique approaches and industry knowhow to work with local AHJs to develop a plan for your project.
Understanding the Project
Whether the client envisions a smaller scale deep water, stationary wave, or a full lagoon that offers traveling waves for as many as 100 surfers at once, Martin Aquatic can deliver an aquatic environment of the highest quality. Our engineers have worked with numerous types of wave generation technologies to gain experience in this new surf industry; and when a surf park is more than just a single amenity, we also have the design expertise to advise our clients on site layout for other aquatic elements. Applying Engineering Principles
Surf lagoons using a Blue Mar Basins system have been studied to be more sustainable than traditionally-designed swimming pools, while maintaining a higher quality of water than other systems currently available on the market. Our technology has been vetted as an industry member of STOKE, the world's first sustainability certification body for surf and ski tourism operators. Our commitment to sustainability standards is illustrated by our meticulous engineering calculations and our incorporation of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling for every Blue Mar Basins project, which simulates how the surf lagoon will function in a real-world environment. Using Blue Mar Basins technology, these surfing amenities will experience greater water savings, chemical savings, and energy savings through a proprietary process for filtration, automation, and water distribution. Our team works closely with the selected wave technology to ensure the water treatment and wave dispatch system harmoniously work together for the best artificial surfing experience.
