Blue Mar Basins® Announces Partnership with Life Floor as Exclusive Provider of Safety Surfacing

At Carnival Cruise Line’s private destination, Celebration Key, the new lagoons powered by Martin Aquatic’s Blue Mar Basins system feature sparkling clear water surrounded by acres of Bahamian sand. Also at each of the lagoons’ zero-entry points, guests are enjoying wading into the water on cushioned safety surfacing from Minneapolis-based manufacturer, Life Floor. Through a new exclusive partnership, Life Floor tiles will become a standard feature at the sloping water’s edge for every Blue Mar Basins amenity in the future.

Life Floor has set the standard for the industry as the first safety surfacing engineered specifically for aquatics. With its NSF/ANSI certification for slip-resistance and cushioning, Life Floor tiles mitigate risk while adding comfortability over concrete—whether walking, kneeling, or sitting along the basin’s edge.

Another benefit to including Life Floor at the edges of a Blue Mar Basins amenity is how it enhances the guest experience with aesthetic appeal. Life Floor tiles come in a range of more than 30 colors and multiple shapes, with the ability to create custom Inlays or Murals.

Martin Aquatic has a long history of designing various aquatic environments using Life Floor, such as Celebration Key’s on-island splash pad for Carnival’s littlest cruisers, Guppy Grotto. The flat deck design with spraying toys slopes down to a shallow toddler wading pool, all cushioned by colorful, soft Life Floor. While this kid-friendly area featured fun sea life themed tiles, the design of tiles along the large basin is a natural blend of beige colors that creates a harmonious transition from sand to pool. Since the opening of Celebration Key, nearly 350,000 guests have come ashore and been mesmerized by the massive freshwater lagoons with endless opportunities to relax in paradise.
