Martin Aquatic’s 2025 Dream Designs Award Winner Brings Elevated Luxury to Philadelphia
Aquatics International recognizes the design of the rooftop amenity deck at One Thousand One for its expansive pools and spas

Following the opening of the new residential complex, One Thousand One in Philadelphia, the industry publication Aquatics International recognized its expansive rooftop pool amenity with a 2025 Dream Designs Award. Designed and engineered by Martin Aquatic, the pools in Philly’s newest—and largest—residential development are some of the most luxurious amenities in the city, helping to make 1001 a highly sought-after address.
The conceptual design for this project included several key amenities: a 6,000 square-foot primary pool, an intimate 1,300 square foot cove pool, and outlying private spaces. The expansive 169-foot-long primary pool comes complete with three separate spas along with its own reflection pond featuring a fire pit, outdoor kitchens, grills, and sinks, perfect for residents who come to indulge in leisure time with friends and family.
The project was constructed to appeal to a polished, modern aesthetic, following clean lines and monochromatic poolscape finishes. The design drew inspiration from the building’s long interior hallways, influencing the length of the main pool and playing with rectangular architecture. Greenery such as ivy-covered pergolas and planters was added to complement the space’s serenity and cut through Philadelphia’s bustling concrete cityscape.
Engineering a rooftop pool this long was challenging enough, but what made the project even more complicated was that the pool deck was built over multiple towers. Martin Aquatic’s use of Revit 3D design helped the project’s design stages, and what resulted is an incredible, award-winning amenity that residents will enjoy for years to come.
This recognition marks one of 17 Dream Designs awards that Martin Aquatic has won over the last decade. Last year, Martin Aquatic won a 2024 Dream Designs award for the firm’s work on Serengeti Springs at The Hattiesburg Zoo in Mississippi.
