Norwegian Cruise Line’s Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay

Bahamas

Designed 2025

Opened 2026

Located in the Bahamas, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, dramatically transformed its guest amenities through two renovations. The first added its pier, large lagoon pool, and a kids splash pad. For its most recent renovation, Norwegian developed Great Tides Waterpark, a six-acre site with thrilling attractions and classic waterpark amenities.

Great Tides Waterpark is anchored by a 170-foot-tall tower named “Tidal Tower” with eight exciting rides including body slides, mat racers, and multi-person tube slides. The highlight is the aquacoaster, Breakwater Blasters, which propel inner-tubes uphill and through steep drops and twists with high-pressure water jets. Also at the waterpark is a first in the Caribbean, The Great Slide, a wide family slide that allows four guests to slide down simultaneously. This adventurous area called Cliffside Cove also includes a connected 12.5-foot-deep pool with two drop slides and thrilling 10’ and 15’ cliff jump platforms—which is a first for the cruise industry. At the center of Great Tides Waterpark, a 9,000-square-foot kids splash zone called Splash Cay will provide more fun for little ones with an oversized tipping bucket and eight mini slides and spray features. Rounding out the waterpark is a lazy river like no other. Stretching 800 feet long, The Wandering River takes guests along a meandering path, as well as through a special illuminated media tunnel for a multi-sensory experience.
