Located in the Bahamas, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, dramatically transformed its guest amenities by adding a pier, a large leisure pool, and a children’s splash area. With a second phase renovation, the island will host a nearly six-acre waterpark with slides, unique cliff jumps, and a one-of-a-kind lazy river.

Closest to the pier is the Great Life Lagoon, a 28,000-square-foot heated pool featuring two swim-up bars and family-friendly elements at one of its two beach-style entries. The pool features large sunshelves with in-water loungers for guests to relax in ankle deep water. Complimentary for guests, this pool is managed by Martin Aquatic’s patented system for water quality, Blue Mar Basins®. Within the lagoon are powerful Blue Mar Nova lights that illuminate the water, allowing Norwegian Cruise Line to offer later stays into the evening at this incredible port of call. Adjacent to this space is another free amenity, Splash Harbor, a 3,400-square-foot splash pad with small children’s slides and a tipping bucket for endless water fun.
