Invictus Games
Orlando, Florida
Designed 2016
Located at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, the 2016 Invictus Games brought together wounded, injured, and sick Servicemen and women for an international sporting competition. For the swimming events, the weeklong event constructed an Olympic size 50-meter pool with eight lanes and a warm-up 25-meter pool. These two temporary pools used Myrtha’s stainless steel technology and, following the event, were disassembled, moved and re-installed in another facility. Because of the extensive permitting process for this short-term installation, Martin Aquatic served as the liaison between the local governments, competition organizers, and health departments in the firm’s home city of Orlando.
