The leadership of Martin Aquatic is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Kent as Vice President, Business Development, to the team. With the firm’s foothold in the Themed Entertainment sector, Kent will use his industry expertise in driving connections with new clients and ventures where aquatic experiences are becoming more commonplace.

Matt brings with him a diverse range of knowledge from the themed entertainment industry, having helped shape ideas into fully realized projects throughout the world. His previous 15 years of experience on both the design side and the construction side provide him a strategic perspective on the development of major theme park projects and other experiential destinations.

“Bringing Matt onboard, given his experience as a business strategist in this growing industry, only made sense for Martin Aquatic,” said president and creative director Josh Martin. “The scope of his work and the various niches he’s reached already had a lot of crossover with our projects. We’re fortunate not just that he can continue working with Martin Aquatic, but that he will be working for Martin Aquatic.”

Previously, Matt had served on the International Board of Directors for the Themed Entertainment Association during his time as the Director of New Business Development at Scenario, the global, multi-award-winning thematic fabrication firm. Last month, Martin Aquatic announced a collaboration with Scenario that will allow for the turnkey design-development of thematic water environments. Matt’s move to this new role with Martin Aquatic will further bolster that partnership while greatly enhancing Martin Aquatic’s own growth within its core segments of Waterparks, Resort Amenities, Water Features, Themed Entertainment, and its newest segment Blue Mar Basins™.

While Martin Aquatic counts among its clients some of the largest theme park operators in the world, Kent brings a unique portfolio of his own. In his career, he has helped to build teams that shaped the creation of hundreds of experiential projects within theme parks, RD&E (retail, dining, and entertainment) complexes, branded environments, activations and pop-ups, and cultural exhibitions. Martin Aquatic welcomes Matt at a promising time following the opening of several of the company’s high-profile nighttime fountain spectacular shows and the announcement of its new patent-pending technology for designing multi-acre swimming basins.

“I’m thrilled to be joining this firm at a time of enormous growth in the themed entertainment industry,” said Kent. “Martin Aquatic has a longstanding track record of delivering excellence, and I look forward to working with Clients and Collaborators to continue to drive that growth.”
