FlowRider Hosts Martin Aquatic for Team Building Day

Summertime team building wouldn’t be complete without a trip to one of Martin Aquatic’s newest projects, the Surf & Splash Waterpark at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites—where the team from FlowRider hosted us for a surf session before ending the day at the Martin Aquatic Test Bay.

There’s no greater feeling of accomplishment than seeing a project open to the public after putting months and months of hard work into creating that aquatic amenity. Except for maybe getting to experience it yourself.

Thanks to the team from FlowRider and WhiteWater, our staff got VIP treatment to see our project firsthand with a private surfing session at the newest family-friendly waterpark in Central Florida: the Surf & Splash Waterpark at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites. For everyone that wanted to test their skills, they offered professional FlowRider instructors to help our team master the surf simulator—or at least have fun trying. With plenty of laughs, spills, and successes, our team tried out boogie boarding or standing up on the iconic wave machine. Adjacent to the FlowRider, the resort also boasts a 3-waterslide tower and an impressive wet play structure with a tipping bucket that drenched the whole crew.

“Having grown by 20 people since the beginning of last year, we recognize the importance of team building that also showcases what we are creating,” said Josh Martin, president & creative director of Martin Aquatic. “It was also the perfect opportunity to introduce the team to what we’ve been building in the Test Bay and demonstrate how we’re continuing to drive innovation in a working aquatic facility.”

As part of our off-site day of Team Building, the entire team trekked to the new Martin Aquatic Test Bay for its first real Employee Open House. This facility houses a working pool and mech space that is powered entirely by Blue Mar Basins, the patented technology with proprietary water treatment equipment. For our newer staff, this was their first chance to see a mechanical room in operation. More importantly, it also showed employees the new innovations that a part of our team has been working on—from the Blue Mar Nova light series to experimental fountain nozzles and effects that are being integrated into current projects under development.

This day of team building gave us a memorable opportunity to step away from our desks, have some fun together, and experience firsthand the excitement we help create every day. It was a great reminder of what makes the aquatics industry—and the work we do—so rewarding. And with Martin Aquatic’s expanding team and ongoing portfolio of amazing projects, we’re looking forward to more special days like this in the future!
