Blue Mar Basins® Enlists American Manufacturer AquaRevival for Exclusive Advanced Filtration Solutions

Through a multi-year development process, Martin Aquatic sought out the most efficient products and equipment to create its comprehensive system for engineering multi-acre bodies of water: Blue Mar Basins. To create pristine swimming environments with the best filtration on the market, Martin Aquatic turned to the Wisconsin-based manufacturer of regenerative media filters, AquaRevival. From there, the companies expanded on AquaRevival’s leading filtration capabilities to develop an entirely new standard of filtration system exclusive to Blue Mar Basins, which is now installed in the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean at Carnival’s private destination, Celebration Key.

This innovative filtration solution, paired with the custom-developed controls by the Blue Mar Basins team, offers an unparalleled water treatment solution. Offering clients advanced automated operations for controlling their basins and/or aquatic bodies, the command center uses custom controls and a proprietary AI water management solution. These technologies combine to create a comprehensive system that delivers substantial water, chemical, and energy savings.

In addition, the new filtration system has other benefits, thanks to Blue Mar Basins’ proprietary pre-assembled approach to construction. This process delivers several of the individual components of a basin’s equipment room together in one package, allowing trained contractors to easily install a complete system instead of building an assembly from dozens of different parts. At Celebration Key, this greatly benefited the expedited construction schedule, allowing the basins to be filled nearly 2 months before the project’s opening day.

The cruise line’s private island continues to experience incredible demand, as thousands of daily visitors disembark Carnival’s ships and enjoy nearly seven acres of pristine blue water. By the end of 2025, more than 1 million guests will have made calls to the port, and Carnival is projecting that as many of 4 million guests per year will visit after the second pier is built.
